08/02/2010 - Ashburn, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth failed to complete a conditioning test on his third attempt Monday morning.
Haynesworth has been on the sidelines for 'Skins practice since failing the test on successive days Thursday and Friday of last week.
Saturday morning, Haynesworth experienced swelling in his knee and was told not to take the test, which he needs to pass before practicing with the team. Additional soreness in the knee kept him from completing the test again Monday.
"He'll go through our walk-throughs and he'll be out there through practice," said Washington head coach Mike Shanahan. "He'll get his conditioning and treatment in between. He'll pass the test when he gets in football shape. He's a fast guy."
The team's training camp report also indicated Shanahan said there may come a time when the club practices Haynesworth even if he hasn't passed the test.
Because Haynesworth did not attend the majority of the team's voluntary offseason programs and skipped the mandatory minicamp in June, due to an objection to his role in the team's new defensive scheme, he was required to pass the conditioning test.
